The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +11.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In 2021, approx. X tons of preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms were exported in Central Asia; rising by 77% on 2020. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 160%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, room deodorants exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports posted a significant increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan represented the largest exporter of preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms in Central Asia, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 76% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Uzbekistan (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons), together mixing up a 23% share of total exports.
Kazakhstan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms exports, with a CAGR of +34.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+24.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Uzbekistan (-4.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+14 p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+6.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kyrgyzstan saw its share reduced by -8.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the largest room deodorants supplier in Central Asia, comprising 77% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with an 11% share of total exports.
In Kazakhstan, room deodorants exports increased at an average annual rate of +34.8% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+7.7% per year) and Kyrgyzstan (+45.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Central Asia amounted to $X per ton, rising by 34% against the previous year. Export price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, room deodorants export price increased by +74.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 58%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kyrgyzstan (+17.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, approx. X tons of preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms were imported in Central Asia; approximately equating 2020 figures. Total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +40.4% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, room deodorants imports surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +35.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

In 2021, Kazakhstan (X tons) was the key importer of preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms, achieving 62% of total imports. Uzbekistan (X tons) took a 15% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkmenistan (6.3%), Kyrgyzstan (5.9%), Mongolia (5.6%) and Tajikistan (5.2%).
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to room deodorants imports into Kazakhstan stood at +5.0%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+12.3%), Mongolia (+5.5%), Kyrgyzstan (+4.2%) and Tajikistan (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Central Asia, with a CAGR of +12.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Turkmenistan (-2.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+15 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan saw its share reduced by -2.5%, -4.6% and -6.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported preparations for perfuming or deodorising rooms in Central Asia, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkmenistan, with a 6.9% share.
In Kazakhstan, room deodorants imports expanded at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Uzbekistan (+31.3% per year) and Turkmenistan (-0.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Central Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 29% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per ton), while Tajikistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
