Poland (X units) was the main destination for belt and bandolier exports from Bulgaria, with a 42% share of total exports. Moreover, belt and bandolier exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X units), twofold. Romania (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Poland totaled +37.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+1.3% per year) and Romania (-24.3% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for belt and bandolier exported from Bulgaria were Germany ($X), the United States ($X) and Poland ($X), together comprising 33% of total exports. These countries were followed by Romania, Greece, China, France, Slovenia, Iraq and the UK, which together accounted for a further 29%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, China, with a CAGR of +97.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average belt and bandolier export price amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 77% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of belts and bandoliers, when their volume decreased by -70.7% to X units. Over the period under review, imports recorded a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 174%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
In value terms, belt and bandolier imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 37%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

Greece (X units), Germany (X units) and Turkey (X units) were the main suppliers of belt and bandolier imports to Bulgaria, with a combined 63% share of total imports. China, Poland, Italy, Pakistan and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Poland (with a CAGR of +39.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
