In 2022, the amount of natural stone setts, kerbstones and flagstones imported in ASEAN rose notably to X tons, surging by 10% compared with the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -25.7% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 47%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Thailand represented the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which finished at 61% of total imports. Malaysia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Singapore (X tons) and the Philippines (X tons). All these countries together held near 32% share of total imports. The following importers - Myanmar (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) - together made up 4.9% of total imports.

Imports into Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +11.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the Philippines (+57.4%), Vietnam (+9.6%) and Singapore (+7.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +57.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Myanmar (-4.1%) and Malaysia (-5.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Thailand and the Philippines increased by +26 and +9.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Thailand ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported natural stone setts, kerbstones and flagstones in ASEAN, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 12% share.
