In 2022, Cameroon (X cubic meters), distantly followed by Congo (X cubic meters), South Africa (X cubic meters), Equatorial Guinea (X cubic meters), Nigeria (X cubic meters) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X cubic meters) were the key exporters of industrial roundwood, together creating X% of total exports. Sierra Leone (X cubic meters) and Liberia (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Democratic Republic of the Congo (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X cubic meters in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, industrial roundwood imports expanded significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Egypt represented the largest importing country with an import of around X cubic meters, which amounted to X% of total imports. Algeria (X cubic meters) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Morocco (X%) and Mauritania (X%).
