In 2022, the average waferboard import price amounted to $316 per cubic meter, jumping by 33% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($396 per cubic meter), while the price for India ($85 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of waferboards, when their volume decreased by -13.5% to 1.2M cubic meters. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 6.8% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.3M cubic meters, and then fell in the following year.
