Waferboard Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average waferboard import price amounted to $308 per cubic meter, with an increase of 11% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($489 per cubic meter), while the price for the Czech Republic ($210 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Waferboard Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average waferboard export price stood at $446 per cubic meter in June 2023, waning by -1.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 7.3% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $458 per cubic meter. From May 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($957 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($309 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Waferboard Imports in Poland
Waferboard imports into Poland fell rapidly to 1.5M cubic meters in 2022, waning by -31% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.2M cubic meters, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, waferboard imports reduced notably to $399M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +23.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $484M, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

Waferboard Exports in Poland
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in overseas shipments of waferboards, when their volume decreased by -1.8% to 834K cubic meters. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +47.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 27%. The exports peaked at 850K cubic meters in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
In value terms, waferboard exports soared to $326M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 53%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
