Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Price in Sri Lanka (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average vinegar-preserved vegetable export price amounted to $1,308 per ton, with an increase of 4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 6.7%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,468 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($943 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Price in Sri Lanka (CIF) - 2022

The average vinegar-preserved vegetable import price stood at $1,083 per ton in 2022, increasing by 18% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,568 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($2,967 per ton), while the price for China ($865 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Exports in Sri Lanka

In 2022, overseas shipments of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes decreased by -7.6% to 7.5K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports recorded a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 3.7% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 8.7K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable exports reduced slightly to $9.8M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a mild contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 4.9%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $11M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Vinegar-Preserved Vegetable Imports in Sri Lanka

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes decreased by -61.7% to 100 tons in 2022. Overall, imports saw a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 35%.

In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable imports reduced sharply to $108K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a dramatic slump. The smallest decline of -0.3% was in 2020.
