Vegetable Puree Price in Malaysia (FOB) - 2021

In December 2021, the average vegetable puree export price amounted to $5,514 per ton, rising by 67% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible increase from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, vegetable puree export price increased by +32.5% against September 2021 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Australia ($5,879 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($2,161 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Vegetable Puree Price in Malaysia (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average vegetable puree import price amounted to $1,436 per ton, with an increase of 1.7% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, vegetable puree import price increased by +65.1% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,936 per ton), while the price for China ($877 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Vegetable Puree Exports in Malaysia

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of vegetable puree, when their volume decreased by -9.9% to 161 tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 23%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 179 tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, vegetable puree exports declined to $410K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 41% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $480K, and then shrank in the following year.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of vegetable puree was finally on the rise to reach 310 tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a dramatic curtailment.
