Vegetable Product Price in Myanmar (FOB) - 2022

In December 2022, the average vegetable product export price amounted to $76.7 per ton, dropping by -65.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a temperate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 968% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $895 per ton. From September 2022 to December 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for China.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +5.6% per month.

Vegetable Product Price in Myanmar (CIF) - 2022

The average vegetable product import price stood at $2,301 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 109% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a temperate expansion. The import price peaked at $2,662 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for China.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Thailand amounted to +0.8% per year.

Vegetable Product Exports in Myanmar

After three years of growth, shipments abroad of vegetable products decreased by -1% to 10K tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 5,688%.

In value terms, vegetable product exports dropped to $18M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 3,141%.

Vegetable Product Imports in Myanmar

In 2022, purchases abroad of vegetable products decreased by -61.8% to 50 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports continue to indicate a sharp decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 120% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 915 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, vegetable product imports dropped markedly to $114K in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a dramatic shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 115%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $634K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
