Unvulcanized Rubber Price in Norway (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average unvulcanized rubber import price amounted to $6,925 per ton, growing by 6.8% against the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 22% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $8,222 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($9,243 per ton), while the price for France ($4,433 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Unvulcanized Rubber Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022
The average unvulcanized rubber export price stood at $15,833 per ton in 2022, picking up by 11% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 22%. The export price peaked at $30,141 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($48,512 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($3,107 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+13.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Unvulcanized Rubber Imports in Norway
In 2022, the amount of unvulcanized rubber and articles thereof imported into Norway reduced to 7.8K tons, with a decrease of -7% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 10%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 8.4K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, unvulcanized rubber imports dropped to $48M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $49M, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 12%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 395 tons, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
In value terms, unvulcanized rubber exports rose markedly to $6M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 17%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
