EU unvulcanized rubber production showed mixed dynamics from 2007 to 2014, eventually falling from 2,691 thousand tonnes in 2007 to 2,211 thousand tonnes in 2014. It dropped with a CAGR of 2.8% over the period under review. In value terms, EU rubber production decreased to 5,964 million EUR in 2014, decreasing by 1.3% annually.

Germany had the largest production of unvulcanized rubber in absolute volumes, with 778 thousand tonnes. It was distantly followed by the UK (144 thousand tonnes), Hungary (26 thousand tonnes) and Finland (6 thousand tonnes).

From 2007 to 2014, rubber production rates were stable in Hungary (+0.3% per year) and Germany (+0.1% per year), while for the other two EU leaders (the UK and Finland) the paces of growth were negative.

Germany dominated in EU rubber production and trade. In 2014, it exported 67% of its total unvulcanized rubber output. Of this amount, 15% was supplied to France, where Germany's rubber held a 49% share of total French imports.
