Unvulcanized Rubber Price in Greece (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average unvulcanized rubber import price amounted to $1,809 per ton, dropping by -51.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 94% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $4,651 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($8,998 per ton), while the price for China ($879 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Unvulcanized Rubber Price in Greece (FOB) - 2022
The average unvulcanized rubber export price stood at $3,954 per ton in 2022, surging by 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,688 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($8,109 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($686 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+96.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Unvulcanized Rubber Imports in Greece
In 2022, the amount of unvulcanized rubber and articles thereof imported into Greece surged to 11K tons, picking up by 53% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +90.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, unvulcanized rubber imports skyrocketed to $27M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +54.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

As a result, the exports reached the peak of 1.3K tons, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, unvulcanized rubber exports shrank to $3.2M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +11.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $3.5M, and then declined in the following year.
