Uncured Cheese Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

The average uncured cheese import price stood at $4,594 per ton in March 2022, dropping by -2.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 an increase of 6.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $4,698 per ton in February 2022, and then dropped slightly in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($8,375 per ton), while the price for Argentina ($4,389 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Uncured Cheese Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022

The average uncured cheese export price stood at $4,722 per ton in 2022, dropping by -11.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 46%. The export price peaked at $5,582 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brunei Darussalam ($7,772 per ton), while the average price for exports to Timor-Leste ($1,409 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Uncured Cheese Imports in Indonesia

In 2022, uncured cheese imports into Indonesia rose remarkably to 8.3K tons, picking up by 8.2% on 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 32%.

In value terms, uncured cheese imports skyrocketed to $41M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +85.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 43%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Uncured Cheese Exports in Indonesia

In 2022, shipments abroad of unripened or uncured cheese decreased by -20.8% to 18 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports, however, showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 639%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 111 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, uncured cheese exports contracted markedly to $83K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 468%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $406K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
