Tyre Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average tyre export price amounted to $65 per unit, surging by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a slight shrinkage. The export price peaked at $79 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($98 per unit), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($44 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Tyre Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022

The average tyre import price stood at $54 per unit in 2022, surging by 32% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight slump. The import price peaked at $62 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($120 per unit), while the price for Bangladesh ($2.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Tyre Exports in Turkey

In 2022, approx. 28M units of tyres were exported from Turkey; waning by -3.1% against the previous year's figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 29M units, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

In value terms, tyre exports rose remarkably to $1.8B in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 31%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Tyre Imports in Turkey

In 2022, supplies from abroad of tyres decreased by -9.5% to 19M units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 15%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 21M units, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, tyre imports skyrocketed to $1B in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
