Television Receiver Price in the United Arab Emirates (CIF) - 2022

The average television receiver import price stood at $119 per unit in 2022, reducing by -12% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 33%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $135 per unit, and then fell in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($457 per unit), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($45 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Television Receiver Price in the United Arab Emirates (FOB) - 2022

The average television receiver export price stood at $194 per unit in 2022, which is down by -5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 76% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $227 per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Rwanda ($291 per unit), while the average price for exports to Paraguay ($40 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kenya (+18.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Television Receiver Imports in the United Arab Emirates

In 2022, approx. 7.4M units of television receivers were imported into the United Arab Emirates; reducing by -11.3% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 33%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 8.4M units, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, television receiver imports fell dramatically to $883M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +39.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.1B, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

Television Receiver Exports in the United Arab Emirates

In 2022, overseas shipments of television receivers increased by 11% to 354K units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep reduction. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at 425K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, television receiver exports rose slightly to $69M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a pronounced downturn. The exports peaked at $75M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
