Television Receiver Price in Malaysia (FOB) - 2022
The average television receiver export price stood at $331 per unit in 2022, waning by -7.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $356 per unit, and then fell in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($804 per unit), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($126 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+16.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Television Receiver Price in Malaysia (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average television receiver import price amounted to $407 per unit, declining by -2% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2020 to December 2021, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2021 when the average import price increased by 34% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $446 per unit in May 2021; however, from June 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($543 per unit), while the price for Indonesia ($319 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Television Receiver Exports in Malaysia
Television receiver exports from Malaysia declined slightly to 3.9M units in 2022, waning by -2.8% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, exports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 1.2%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at 5.1M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, television receiver exports fell to $1.3B in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 24%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $1.4B, and then reduced in the following year.

Television receiver imports into Malaysia shrank remarkably to 1.3M units in 2022, reducing by -27.6% on 2021. In general, imports recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 85%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.8M units, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
