Talcum Powder Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average talcum powder export price amounted to $3,427 per ton, with a decrease of -18.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 23% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $4,964 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($9,588 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ghana ($1,318 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Talcum Powder Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

In March 2022, the average talcum powder import price amounted to $12,536 per ton, surging by 49% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a mild contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 an increase of 80% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $23,553 per ton. From February 2022 to March 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was France ($129K per ton), while the price for Thailand ($3,462 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Talcum Powder Exports in Indonesia

In 2022, shipments abroad of talcum powder and other powders for cosmetic use was finally on the rise to reach 3K tons after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, saw a noticeable downturn.

In value terms, talcum powder exports contracted to $10M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 14%.

After two years of decline, overseas purchases of talcum powder and other powders for cosmetic use increased by 45% to 1.1K tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, talcum powder imports skyrocketed to $16M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild downturn.
