Sulphites; Thiosulphates Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023

In August 2023, the average sulphites; thiosulphates export price amounted to $575 per ton, with an increase of 5.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 22% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $815 per ton. From December 2022 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($922 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($351 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In August 2023, the average sulphites; thiosulphates import price amounted to $497 per ton, dropping by -14.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 217% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $947 per ton. From December 2022 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,189 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($340 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of sulphites; thiosulphateses decreased by -90.4% to 21K tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 1,051%.

In value terms, sulphites; thiosulphates exports declined sharply to $13M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 795% against the previous year.
