In November 2023, the average export price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s amounted to $8,474 per ton, with an increase of 13% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 49% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $13,378 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($49,656 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($4,742 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 161% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $17,261 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Portugal ($20,445 per ton), while the price for France ($3,397 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+17.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
