Sulphates; of Magnesium Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average sulphates; of magnesium export price amounted to $1,290 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sulphates; of magnesium export price increased by +62.4% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 45%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,304 per ton in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($1,871 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($696 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+12.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sulphates; of Magnesium Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average sulphates; of magnesium import price amounted to $551 per ton, with an increase of 1.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 21% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $632 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($570 per ton), while the price for Poland ($408 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sulphates; of Magnesium Exports in the Czech Republic
In 2022, shipments abroad of sulphates; of magnesia decreased by -9.3% to 3.6K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 23%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3.9K tons, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, sulphates; of magnesium exports dropped to $4.6M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 26%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $5.1M, and then shrank in the following year.
