Sulphates; of Magnesium Price in Ghana (CIF) - 2022
The average sulphates; of magnesium import price stood at $352 per ton in 2022, surging by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 80%. The import price peaked at $1,228 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,243 per ton), while the price for China ($257 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Sulphates; of Magnesium Imports in Ghana
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of sulphates; of magnesia, when their volume decreased by -31.7% to 829 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 351% against the previous year.
In value terms, sulphates; of magnesium imports shrank significantly to $292K in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 175% against the previous year.
