Sulphates; of Copper Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average sulphates; of copper export price amounted to $2,719 per ton, declining by -3.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 11% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,976 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to the UK ($2,943 per ton) and Spain ($2,906 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($2,294 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($2,324 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average sulphates; of copper import price stood at $2,966 per ton in 2022, picking up by 26% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, sulphates; of copper import price increased by +69.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 34% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,909 per ton), while the price for Italy ($2,008 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sulphates; of Copper Exports in Poland
In 2022, approx. 15K tons of sulphates; of coppers were exported from Poland; approximately equating 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +52.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 51% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, sulphates; of copper exports rose significantly to $42M in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 107% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of sulphates; of coppers decreased by -44.8% to 2.5K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports recorded a dramatic slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 7.3K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sulphates; of copper imports reduced markedly to $7.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 8.7% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $13M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
