Sulphates; of Copper Price in Myanmar (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average sulphates; of copper import price amounted to $2,127 per ton, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 40% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,432 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($2,786 per ton), while the price for Russia ($828 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uzbekistan (+23.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Sulphates; of Copper Imports in Myanmar
In 2022, purchases abroad of sulphates; of coppers decreased by -12.9% to 354 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 199%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 611 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sulphates; of copper imports reduced to $754K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 183%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $873K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
