In 2022, the average sulphates; of aluminium import price amounted to $1,065 per ton, with an increase of 6.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 68% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $3,613 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

In general, imports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 192% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, sulphates; of aluminium imports skyrocketed to $2.6M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 48%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, sulphates; of aluminium exports shrank sharply to $13K in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 293%.
