Styrene Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022
The average styrene export price stood at $4,028 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -2.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 75% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,123 per ton, and then shrank slightly in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($4,395 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($3,828 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Finland (+13.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average styrene import price amounted to $1,385 per ton, reducing by -17.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 34%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,670 per ton, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1,393 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands stood at $1,384 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Styrene Exports in Norway
