In July 2023, the average stainless steel angle import price amounted to $4,242 per ton, declining by -4.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 50% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $5,124 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,617 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($1,416 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Stainless Steel Angle Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023

The average stainless steel angle export price stood at $7,040 per ton in July 2023, falling by -20.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 126% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $11,946 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($13,004 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($3,223 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Stainless Steel Angle Imports in the Netherlands

In 2022, the amount of angles, shapes and sections of stainless steel or other alloy steel imported into the Netherlands stood at 10K tons, remaining stable against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, stainless steel angle imports contracted to $45M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 48% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $48M, and then contracted in the following year.

Overall, exports saw a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 125%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 7.3K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, stainless steel angle exports reduced remarkably to $23M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 113% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $33M.
