In 2021, the average spices; turmeric (curcuma) export price amounted to $2,279 per ton, surging by 2.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 149% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,750 per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($3,228 per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($666 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (-3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,746 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($1,463 per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($462 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
