In June 2023, the average spices; turmeric (curcuma) import price amounted to $1,776 per ton, with a decrease of -23.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 68% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,280 per ton. From March 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($6,975 per ton), while the price for India ($1,366 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 29% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,896 per ton. From April 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Dominican Republic ($11,350 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($681 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
