Spices; Turmeric (Curcuma) Price in Panama (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average spices; turmeric (curcuma) import price amounted to $4,003 per ton, rising by 3.3% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a noticeable increase from 2014 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last eight-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, spices; turmeric (curcuma) import price decreased by -17.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 90% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $4,827 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

The export price peaked at $6,474 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Namibia.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of spices; turmeric (curcuma), when their volume decreased by -10.2% to 43 tons.
