The average spices; turmeric (curcuma) import price stood at $5,119 per ton in June 2023, growing by 47% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a slight increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, spices; turmeric (curcuma) import price increased by +47.0% against May 2023 indices. The import price peaked at $5,325 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($14,174 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($3,363 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
