In 2022, the average spices; saffron import price amounted to $55,828 per ton, with a decrease of -3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 35%. The import price peaked at $124,889 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
