The average spices; nutmeg import price stood at $8,309 per ton in 2022, which is down by -5.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $8,800 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for India.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for India amounted to +9.5% per year.
