Spectacles and Goggles Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average spectacles and goggles import price amounted to $6.2 per unit, declining by -8.8% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 35% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7.3 per unit in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($25.0 per unit), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($1.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Spectacles and Goggles Price in Australia (FOB) - 2022
The average spectacles and goggles export price stood at $10 per unit in 2022, increasing by 30% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 50%. The export price peaked at $14 per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($16 per unit), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($1.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, overseas purchases of spectacles and goggles decreased by -1.2% to 47M units, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
