In September 2022, the shrimps and prawns, dried, salted or in brine, smoked price amounted to $5,976 per ton (FOB, China), with a decrease of -41.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2022 an increase of 32% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $10.9 per kg in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($18.5 per kg), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($2,426 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
