Sauce and Seasoning Price in Colombia (CIF) - 2022

In February 2022, the average sauce and seasoning import price amounted to $3,026 per ton, waning by -2.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 13% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,094 per ton, and then shrank in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($4,948 per ton), while the price for Chile ($1,585 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+7.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sauce and Seasoning Price in Colombia (FOB) - 2022

In February 2022, the average sauce and seasoning export price amounted to $2,183 per ton, reducing by -31.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2021 an increase of 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,272 per ton in February 2021; however, from March 2021 to February 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3,118 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($828 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Peru (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Sauce and Seasoning Imports in Colombia

Sauce and seasoning imports into Colombia contracted dramatically to 15K tons in 2022, reducing by -28% on 2021 figures. In general, imports saw a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 31%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 21K tons, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In value terms, sauce and seasoning imports dropped rapidly to $41M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 43% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $55M, and then dropped notably in the following year.

Sauce and Seasoning Exports in Colombia

After three years of growth, shipments abroad of sauces and seasonings decreased by -42.5% to 3.3K tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 47%.

In value terms, sauce and seasoning exports reduced notably to $12M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 43%.
