The average salts; molybdates export price stood at $14,151 per ton in 2022, falling by -17.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a pronounced expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 131% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $26,186 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($14,959 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($9,801 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+27.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 18%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $28,279 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Lao People's Democratic Republic.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Lao People's Democratic Republic amounted to -7.2% per year.

Salts; molybdates exports from Vietnam skyrocketed to 415 tons in 2022, picking up by 67% against the previous year's figure. Overall, exports enjoyed a significant increase.
