Safety Glass Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023
The average safety glass import price stood at $29.8 per square meter in June 2023, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 21% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $32.8 per square meter in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($38.8 per square meter), while the price for Vietnam ($10.7 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Safety Glass Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2022
In 2021, the average safety glass export price amounted to $30 per square meter, rising by 26% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, safety glass export price increased by +51.6% against 2019 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($31 per square meter), while the average price for exports to the UK ($9.7 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Safety Glass Imports in the Netherlands
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of safety glass, when their volume decreased by -17.5% to 12M square meters. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 14M square meters, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, safety glass imports reduced to $318M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +43.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 35%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $370M, and then shrank in the following year.

Safety Glass Exports in the Netherlands
