Safety Glass Imports By Country
In 2016, China (X tonnes) was the main importer for safety glass, creating X% of total imports. Germany (X tonnes) occupied the second position in the ranking, followed by the U.S. (X tonnes), and Belgium (X tonnes). All these countries together occupied approx. X% share of total imports. Poland (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), South Korea (X tonnes), Canada (X tonnes), Mexico (X tonnes), Japan (X tonnes), and the UK (X tonnes) followed a long way behind this figure.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. Poland, and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2016, the share of South Korea, and the U.S. decreased by -X%, and -X% percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the U.S. ($X) and the UK ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together comprising X% of global imports. These countries were followed by France, Canada, Belgium, South Korea, China, Japan, Mexico, Italy and Poland, which together accounted for a further X%.
South Korea (+X% per year) experienced the highest growth rate of safety glass imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last X year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Safety Glass Import Prices By Country
In 2016, the average import price for safety glass amounted to $X per tonne, surging by X% against the previous year. Overall, safety glass import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010, when import price increased by X% against the previous year level. Global safety glass import peaked of $X per tonne in 2008- however, from 2009 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was the UK ($X per tonne), while China ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.
