Safety Glass Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2022
The average safety glass import price stood at $24 per square meter in 2022, surging by 5.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 15%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $28 per square meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($48 per square meter), while the price for Belarus ($9.6 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Safety Glass Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average safety glass export price amounted to $38.9 per square meter, with a decrease of -1.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 19% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $50.3 per square meter in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($56.6 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($25.4 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Safety Glass Imports in Lithuania
In 2022, safety glass imports into Lithuania surged to 1.7M square meters, increasing by 19% compared with 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, safety glass imports skyrocketed to $40M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.0% over the last three years.
