Rice Bran Price in Chile (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average rice bran export price amounted to $645 per ton, rising by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, rice bran export price increased by +2.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 81% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $770 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Panama ($766 per ton) and Costa Rica ($694 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uruguay ($572 per ton) and Argentina ($663 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Venezuela (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Rice Bran Price in Chile (CIF) - 2022
The average rice bran import price stood at $2,152 per ton in 2022, which is down by -26.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 165%. The import price peaked at $2,928 per ton in 2021, and then shrank notably in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($16,124 per ton), while the price for Bolivia totaled $1,779 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+21.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Rice Bran Exports in Chile
In 2022, overseas shipments of rice bran decreased by -65.3% to 69 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports faced a dramatic slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 55% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 367 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, rice bran exports fell rapidly to $45K in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a precipitous decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 39% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $172K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Rice Bran Imports in Chile
In 2022, overseas purchases of rice bran were finally on the rise to reach 15 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a dramatic decline.
In value terms, rice bran imports surged to $31K in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a sharp descent.
