Refined Palm Oil Price in Denmark (CIF) - 2023
The average refined palm oil import price stood at $1,550 per ton in August 2023, surging by 2.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a slight descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 9.1% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,770 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from the Netherlands ($1,667 per ton) and Germany ($1,529 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($1,185 per ton) and Malaysia ($1,463 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (-0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Refined Palm Oil Price in Denmark (FOB) - 2023
The average refined palm oil export price stood at $2,039 per ton in August 2023, declining by -10.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 94% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,278 per ton in July 2023, and then shrank in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In August 2023, the countries with the highest prices were the UK ($2,303 per ton) and Poland ($2,252 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($1,550 per ton) and Sweden ($1,859 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Refined Palm Oil Imports in Denmark
In 2022, the amount of refined palm oil imported into Denmark declined modestly to 170K tons, dropping by -2.2% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 1.9%.
In value terms, refined palm oil imports surged to $273M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
