Rabbit Meat Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023

The average rabbit meat import price stood at $5,232 per ton in September 2023, growing by 4.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 15% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $6,657 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($8,798 per ton), while the price for Canada ($1,928 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Rabbit Meat Price in the United States (FOB) - 2022

The average rabbit meat export price stood at $1,413 per ton in 2022, declining by -23.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,935 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Panama ($6,230 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($1,334 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Panama (+16.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Rabbit Meat Imports in the United States

Rabbit meat imports into the United States skyrocketed to 1.4K tons in 2022, rising by 25% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, rabbit meat imports skyrocketed to $5.9M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
