In 2022, the average pulp; of bamboo export price amounted to $511 per ton, increasing by 9.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 19%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,781 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,525 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($89 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (-9.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average pulp; of bamboo import price stood at $6,610 per ton in 2022, reducing by -4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 170%. The import price peaked at $6,910 per ton in 2021, and then shrank modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($8,398 per ton), while the price for China ($2,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (-3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Pulp; of Bamboo Exports in Indonesia
In 2022, shipments abroad of pulp; of bambooes decreased by -25.1% to 546 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 617%.
In value terms, pulp; of bamboo exports dropped remarkably to $279K in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 491% against the previous year.

In 2022, overseas purchases of pulp; of bambooes were finally on the rise to reach 841 kg after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a deep slump.
