In 2022, production of wood charcoal decreased by -90.1% to 21 tons, falling for the fourth year in a row after two years of growth. In general, production continues to indicate a precipitous decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak volume of 465 tons. From 2019 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, wood charcoal production fell sharply to $16K in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production showed a significant curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $328K. From 2019 to 2022, production growth failed to regain momentum.
