In 2022, the average printed circuit import price amounted to $0.4 per unit, declining by -16.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 45% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $0.5 per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($0.9 per unit), while the price for Bulgaria ($0.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Printed Circuit Price in Greece (FOB) - 2023

In October 2023, the average printed circuit export price amounted to $679 per thousand units, with a decrease of -18.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 974% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4.6 per unit in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3.6 per unit), while the average price for exports to Germany ($123 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Printed Circuit Imports in Greece

Printed circuit imports into Greece skyrocketed to 21M units in 2022, rising by 42% compared with the previous year. In general, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +79.6% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, printed circuit imports surged to $7.8M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Printed Circuit Exports in Greece

In 2022, printed circuit exports from Greece skyrocketed to 5.4M units, picking up by 124% against the year before. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 6.4M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, printed circuit exports fell significantly to $1.8M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $3M, and then dropped notably in the following year.
