In 2022, the average import price for zinc; plates, sheets, strip and foils amounted to $2,033 per ton, shrinking by -14.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 59%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,236 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Peru ($2,538 per ton), while the price for India ($1,884 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
