In 2021, the average import price for zinc; dust, powders and flakeses amounted to $3,737 per ton, surging by 33% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 52% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,845 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($603 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average export price for zinc; dust, powders and flakeses amounted to $3,811 per ton, increasing by 23% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 88% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,151 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($5,402 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($3,417 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mongolia (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Zinc; Dust, Powders and Flakes in Russia
In 2022, overseas purchases of zinc; dust, powders and flakeses were finally on the rise to reach 2.2K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, showed a pronounced setback.
In value terms, zinc; dust, powders and flakes imports fell to $7M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate modest growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 18%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $7.6M, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, zinc; dust, powders and flakes exports dropped to $797K in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 20%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $869K, and then fell in the following year.
