The average import price for zinc; dust, powders and flakeses stood at $3,178 per ton in August 2023, with a decrease of -5.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 18% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $5,028 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($7,102 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($3,002 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
