Price for Zinc; Dust, Powders and Flakes in Saudi Arabia (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for zinc; dust, powders and flakeses stood at $1,486 per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -16.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 68% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,591 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($2,642 per ton), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($556 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+55.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for zinc; dust, powders and flakeses stood at $2,471 per ton in 2021, approximately equating the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 41%. The import price peaked at $3,729 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($4,034 per ton), while the price for Italy ($965 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
