Price for Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Luxembourg (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average yoghurt and fermented milk export price amounted to $1,529 per ton, waning by -4.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 13% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,649 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,750 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($913 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In May 2023, the average yoghurt and fermented milk import price amounted to $3,324 per ton, shrinking by -1.9% against the previous month. Over the period from May 2022 to May 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 9% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,387 per ton, and then dropped modestly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3,658 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($2,216 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Luxembourg
For the fourth year in a row, Luxembourg recorded growth in overseas shipments of yoghurt and fermented milk, which increased by 7.3% to 44K tons in 2022.
